- With the assistance of Government of India, new Govt. Polytechnic Colleges have been set up in Seven Districts of State of Punjab i.e. Mansa/ Faridkot/ Mukatsar/ Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar/ Fatehgarh Sahib/ Kapurhtala/ Barnala with financial assistance of Rs.1230.00 lac per Polytechnic,
- Out of which Rs.800.00 lac for Civil works and Rs.430.00 lacs for equipment, machinery, furniture, Transport and Learning Resource Materials.
- The Govt. of India has released Rs.8609.75 lacs till date and same has been incurred.

- Government of India has approved a scheme for Strengthening of Existing Polytechnics under scheme of Sub-Mission on Polytechnics under Coordinated Action for Skill Development through Central Assistance.
- The financial assistance is to be provided to existing Govt./Govt. aided Polytechnics for (i) modern equipment and replace of obsolete equipments, (ii) modern facilities for application of IT in teaching, learning and testing processes and (iii) creating infrastructure facilities as well as introduction of new diploma courses throughout the country.
