Grant in Aid for Campus University/Engineering College

•Salary Grant for two Universities & one Engineering College (Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur and MIMIT Malout).
•Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur and Beant College of Engg. & Technology, Gurdaspur were upgraded into a Non affiliating University by getting SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH STATE UNIVERSITY ACT, 2021 and SARDAR BEANT SINGH STATE UNIVERSITY ACT, 2021 respectively passed from Vidhan Sabha. This will help in transforming these Institutions into a multi disciplinary Institutions as envisioned in National Education Policy, 2020. This will greatly help the poor students belonging to the border areas in getting access to quality education.
•MIMIT Malout was established in 1998. The college is spread over an area of ​​22 acres. There are four B.Tech. courses, three non-AICTE and a M.Tech. course is running.

Community Development Through Polytechnics

Community Development through Polytechnics Scheme to provide training to the students of the Schedule Caste, Backward Classes, those who left the School, Physically Handicapped and Socio-economically weaker section etc. Under the Scheme Short term courses of 3-6 months are being run especially for the under privileged people.

Strengthening of Existing Polytechnics

GoI has approved a scheme for Strengthening of Existing Polytechnics under Coordinated Action for Skill Development through Central Assistance.

The financial assistance is to be provided to existing Govt./Govt. aided Polytechnics for

(i)modern equipment and replace of obsolete equipments,
(ii)modern facilities for application of IT in teaching, learning and testing processes and
(iii)creating infrastructure facilities
(iv)introduction of new diploma courses throughout the country during 11th Plan subject to a maximum of Rs. 200 lac per polytechnic.
(v)The labs of these Institutions will be upgraded by getting machinery & equipment duly vetted by NITTTR, Chandigarh. 17 polytechnics were selected in this scheme for upgradation.
